Hunter Douglas Manual Window Treatment Options
Find A Window Treatment That Works For You… Not The Other Way Around
Made-to-order blinds, shades, shutters, and curtains from Hunter Douglas allow you to customize many details of your window treatments including the operating system. But first, let us clarify “What is an operating system?”. To put it simply, a window treatment operating system is the way your window covering functions in order to raise, lower, and adjust. The benefit of customizing your window treatment operating system is that you get to choose how you would like to interact with your blind, shade, shutter, or drape to achieve your light control and privacy needs. Hunter Douglas offers several cordless system options that declutter the area around your windows making them free of cords and chains. Cordless blinds and cordless shades are not only a more up-to-date look but eliminating the need for cords can also improve your home environment by making it safer for children and pets. For questions about which window treatment operating system would be best for your home, we recommend scheduling a free consultation where we can guide you toward the system that will meet your needs.
Window Blind Operating Systems
Go cordless with the LiteRise® operating system from Hunter Douglas. LiteRise® makes raising and lowering manual blinds as easy as it gets. Smoothly push up on the bottom rail to raise or pull to lower. The LiteRise® technology will securely hold blinds at any position. LiteRise® is available on Parkland® Wood Blinds and EverWood® Composite Wood Blinds.
Customize any of the Hunter Douglas manual blind operating systems with a wand tilt option. A wand provides a cleaner, more streamlined way to adjust blind slats without the need for traditional tilt cords. Simply turn the wand in either direction to tilt the slats forward or backward, allowing more or less natural light into the room. Wand tilt is available on Aria™ Soft Blinds, Parkland® Wood Blinds, and EverWood® Composite Wood Blinds.
We offer the Wand Control operating system for Vertical Solutions® Vertical Blinds and Skyline® Panel-Track Blinds. Wand Control replaces the need for looped cords and chains, providing a cleaner appearance and simple operation. Easily rotate vanes or glide panels open and closed with a single wand, making it a convenient and child-safe solution for large windows and patio doors.
Window Shade Operating Systems
Duolite® is a two-in-one operating system that combines two fabric opacities within a single shade for enhanced light control and privacy. Homeowners can easily transition between filtered natural light and increased room darkening throughout the day. Duolite® is available on Alustra®, Applause® , Designer Roller, Designer Screen, Duette®, Provenance® , Silhouette®, and Vignette®.
The UltraGlide® operating system features a retractable cord or wand that maintains a consistent length regardless of the shade position. This makes it a great option for homeowners who prefer a cleaner appearance and enhanced safety. UltraGlide® is available on Alustra®, Applause®, Duette®, Nantucket™, Pirouette®, Provenance®, and Silhouette®.
LiteRise® is Hunter Douglas' cordless operating system that allows you to raise and lower shades by simply pushing up or pulling down on the bottom rail. The shade securely holds any position without the need for cords. LiteRise® is available on Alustra®, Aria™, Applause®, Duette®, Designer Roller, Designer Screen, Designer Banded, Nantucket™, Provenance®, Silhouette®, Sonnette®, and Vignette®.
Dual Rollers are made from two roller shades. They are positioned one behind the other and each roller shade can operate independently. Fabrics with different opacities, such as light-filtering room darkening provide the most lighting and privacy variations. Dual rollers are available for Designer Roller and Designer Screen Shades.
EasyRise™ features a continuous cord loop that makes raising and lowering shades smooth and effortless. This operating system is especially beneficial for larger windows and expansive window treatments. EasyRise™ is available on Alustra®, Applause®, Duette®, Nantucket™, Pirouette®, Provenance®, Silhouette®, and Vignette®.
Top-Down/Bottom-Up shades provide flexible light control by allowing the shade to be lowered from the top or raised from the bottom. This versatile operating system lets you enjoy natural light while maintaining privacy and reducing direct sunlight exposure. Top-Down/Bottom-Up operation is available on Alustra®, Applause®, Duette®, Provenance®, and Vignette®.
Designed for European style or tilt-and-turn windows, TrackGlide™ keeps honeycomb shades in place regardless of whether the window is open or closed. Due to this reason, TrackGlide™ is also a great solution for French doors. TrackGlide™ is available for Duette® and can also pair with the LiteRise® system.
LightLock™ and LightLock™ Flex are innovative blackout systems designed to help block unwanted light for improved sleep, privacy, and room darkening. Engineered with specialized side channels, these systems help prevent light from leaking around the edges of the shade. LightLock™ and LightLock™ Flex are available on Duette® Cellular Shades and Applause® Cellular Shades.
The A Deux™ system is available on Silhouette® Privacy Sheers and Nantucket™ Privacy Sheers by Hunter Douglas. Similar to a dual roller shade, A Deux™ combines two window treatments in one headrail. The sheer shade is paired with a room-darkening roller shade, allowing each to be positioned independently for enhanced light control, privacy, and room-darkening flexibility throughout the day.
Vertiglide™ offers a vertical solution for manual window shades. This system is ideal for sliding patio doors or other large side-to-side openings. To open and close, simply pull or push the handle in a sideways motion to position the shade. The Vertiglide™ system is available on the Duette® and Applause® honeycomb shades by Hunter Douglas.
Wand Control provides a simple, cordless way to operate select vertical window treatments. Easily glide panels, sheers, or drapery open and closed with a single wand, eliminating the need for hanging cords or chains and creating a cleaner appearance. Wand Control is available on Vertical Solutions® Vertical Blinds, Luminette®, Skyline® Panel-Track Blinds, and Drapery.
Another manual operating system option for the Luminette® sheer shade is combination wand control. Hunter Douglas combined the functionality of a cord and wand into a single device. To open or draw the window sheer pull the neatly hidden loop in either direction and to tilt the veins twist the wand for more or less view through.
Custom Clutch features a continuous beaded chain loop that operates on a simple pulley system, making it easy to raise and lower shades with precision. This operating system is a popular choice for its reliability, smooth operation, and ease of use. Custom Clutch is available on Designer Roller Shades, Designer Screen Shades, Designer Banded Shades, and Sonnette® Cellular Roller Shades.
